WELCOME
Thinkcraft would like to acknowledge the Bpangerang Original Inhabitants whose Country we are gathered on. We pay respect to their Elders past, present and future, and extend respect to all First Nations People.

Bpangerang stories themselves are not ours to tell, The Beacon is a contemporary homage to an ancient and continuing First Nation practice of gathering people to tell a story, and deeply understanding the interconnectedness between and around the natural living world.

ABOUT
The Wangaratta Railway Precinct is a gateway to the Victorian high country and the region is home to unique indigenous flora, fauna, and iconic waterways.

These elements feature regularly in Bpangerang, and First Nations stories, however identifying with and learning about our surrounding context is something that has relevance to everyone in our community.

The flora and fauna depicted on the tower are very often indigenous species to Australia that are habitat threatened or endangered. In an era of ‘connection,’ we want to remind visitors to The Beacon of this interconnected ecosystem, a “Dirrawarra-ness” that speaks to our universal connection to our surroundings and each other.
